Four main products groups
VIA's network is made up of four
main products groups:
Quebec City-Windsor
Corridor, which accounts for approximately 85% of the Corporation's
ridership and 70% of its income.
Western services, between Toronto
and Vancouver, popular with the domestic and foreign tourist
markets, where the award-winning Silver & Blue
class tops the bill.
Eastern services linking the
Atlantic regions with central Canada via the Montreal-Halifax and
Montreal-Gaspé routes.
Northern services, in Quebec,
Ontario, Saskatchewan and British Columbia, often traveling through
sparsely populated regions where other means of transportation may
be very limited or nonexistent.
VIA keeps its fleet of LRC cars,
stainless-steel cars and locomotives highly reliable and in top
condition at three maintenance centers located in Montreal, Winnipeg and
Vancouver. The Corporation's headquarters is in Montreal, Quebec.
